Co-op Classes

 

PCCHE CO-OP REGISTRATION INFORMATION FALL 2008

We are currently working on a fall co-op schedule to be posted in July. However, we need to establish interest in the following classes before confirming them on the schedule. If your student(s) would be interested in taking one or more of these classes, please email Marti Latham with the student's name and class desired. 

Apologia Science Courses: Biology, Chemistry, Physics   Fees: $65 month  Chemistry has a one time lab fee of $50. Teacher: Gary Hanna

Saxon Math Courses: Algebra 1/2, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Advanced Math, Consumer Math  Fees: $50 month, $55 for Adv. Math  Teacher: Marc Sandefur

WHO: Your family must be a current member of the Parker County Christian Home Educators support group in order to participate in the co-op classes. Applications can be obtained on the website or at co-op registration. Please bring a separate check for membership. ($20/year, $10/January-May).

WHAT: The PCCHE Co-op has grown into what could be classified as two separate groups.

First, we offer classes that are available without a teacher’s fee. These classes are in the true sense “cooperative” and therefore, require the participation of parents. Parents of students wanting to take advantage of these classes and are not already signed up to teach, must be on-site and will be assigned to help in a designated area for each hour that your student is taking a class. There will be no “drop off” students.

Secondly, we offer classes that require a monthly or “by the semester” teacher’s fee. For these classes the students will be allowed to attend classes without parent’s participation. If the student is under the age of 12, however, there will need to be a parent on-site. The said parent will not be required to work, but we feel for us to take full responsibility of a student under the age of 12 would not be wise. We will have a waiver available that can be signed and would allow responsibility for your young student to be assigned to an adult of your choice that is onsite.

WHERE: Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1706 South Main, Weatherford, TX. The parking lot is south of the main entrance.

FEES: Each child that participates in co-op is required to pay the $15 registration/building fee. This is non-refundable. Class fees will vary depending on the class(es) you take. Don’t forget your checkbook! NOTE: Everyone must register for the new semester, even those students who are taking full year courses.
